Help! Again!!!!

Dear fellow writers and readers, and other random people. I must say this again.

HELP!

Yep. That’s right. I’m stuck. Again.

I’m not much of an inventor.

I’m needing some help from some creative, technologically-inclined people right now. I need you to comment and share…

Ideas for technology in the future.

And I’ll need to put them in my new novel.

Thanks to your help with character names, all of my characters have names that are either (a) made up, (b) are altered to fit the time period, or (c) sound like futuristic names. Now I need inventions for the future world. The only things that I’ve figured out so far are really, really, really tall buildings, hover cars, super-fast transporters, and lights that simply float and aren’t connected to anything. And I’d love to have you help me come up with more futuristic inventions.

Please comment and share your ideas! I need all the inventions I can get! 🙂

  2. 1-How about something like a virtual reality helmet but instead of it showing you a fantasy virtual reality, it allows people to stay at home while really working at their offices?
    2-A retinal scanner to take the place of ATM or credit cards so there will be no more identity theft.
    3-When people are born, they can be injected with the same microchip that we currently use for pets. Right now, when a vet scans a lost pet, it tells them the owner’s name & contact info. People could be injected so that children would never be lost.
    4-Likewise as #3, the injection can include a GPS, so that people never go missing AND criminals can always be found.
    5-A device that can hook to a computer and maybe look like the “suction cups” a doctor sticks on people for an EKG, and people can stick them on to their temple, then they don’t have to type or speak for their computer to write, but they only have to think of what they want the computer to type.

    I’m sorry if these aren’t very good… Sci-fi isn’t my best work. 🙂 Good luck! 😀

      1. Those are great? I was afraid they were kind of lame. Well, if you need more like those, I can definitely think of more. But I don’t think I’ll get any better than that. LOL! 🙂

      2. They’re perfect. In fact, I wish I had number five. That one would be great. Then I could just imagine stories and they would be written down, and I wouldn’t forget anything. 😀

      3. LOL! I wish I had it, too. 🙂 How about a large framed photo that turns into a TV or else a floating piece of glass that turns into a TV? Or a waterproof touchscreen computer in the shower? Or some sort of computer device that can be used by farmers or gardeners that can make fruits and vegetables ripen immediately? Or some sort of missile that can be shot into the clouds and either make it rain or stop the rain when necessary? Or maybe it can even be sent into hurricanes or tornadoes and dissipate them?

      6. Right now I’m working on writing the story, but I’m skipping over the parts that have to have specific inventions mentioned. So it doesn’t have to be too soon. 🙂 All of your suggestions have fit in with my futuristic vision. 😉

Alright, I was all ready for bed then had two more for ya… How about a doctor’s office with no doctor, but a body scanner people walk through (similar to the airport) that can diagnose any problem without the need for the patient to tell their complaint? Also, how about in grocery stores, people bring their own bags that are pre-purchased from that particular store… As they shop, they place their food in the bags within the cart. When they check out, they simply put the loaded bags on the conveyor, then they pass through a small scanner (such as for carry-on bags at the airport) and the total is calculated automatically without the need to scan each individual item. Then the person’s payment is deducted automatically from their bank from a code on the bags they pre-purchased that is linked to them. Do these help? 🙂

Oh, and the body scanner could also be used to weed out people who were faking injuries for disability fraud, fraudulent lawsuits, etc. In fact, they could even use them when people were injured and sued someone, and they would know how much the injury was really worth. Okay, I’m getting carried away and I don’t even know if these are what you’re looking for. LOL! Good night! 🙂

  3. Mmmm… well, I know that my sci-fi presumes extreme advances in medicine and cyber-ware, somewhat lesser advances in weaponry, etc. Basically, I look at grown-up forms of our own fledgling technologies.
