Proverbs 31

I’ve added a link to the side with the library titled “Proverbs 31”. I didn’t feel like posting it all, so I made it a page all to itself! Those verses are where I got the name of my blog from.

I was thinking about those verses. Solomon wrote them. Kinda ironic, right? He’s the guy who had a whole bunch of wives, and yet, here he is, writing about a wife of noble character. I wonder what he was thinking about while he was writing that. Was he wishing that he didn’t have so many ungodly wives? Was he wondering if he would ever find a wife to actually fit that description? Just something to chew on. Well, mentally, at least. Love ya’ll!

Stones Under Rushing Water

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

Galations 5:13

Here’s the prologue for a story I’m co-writing with Super Em 😀

Hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think. We’d love your opinion.

Decision-Making and Coffee

Boy, I love making my titles random! Anyway, this random quote from George Washington should explain the title and make it not quite as random…

“Decision-making, like coffee, needs a cooling process.”

-George Washington

Like I said, a random quote to make it the random title less random. Wow, sounds like this post’s pretty… random. Here’s a kind of random story, too. It’s based on tobyMac’s song Me Without You.

So, enjoy the randomness! 😉

Friendship

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

Proverbs 27:17

Wow. We’re supposed to sharpen our friends like iron sharpens iron. We’re supposed to build them up, to encourage them, to help them grow in their relationships with God. That’s what true friends should look like. This is also why it’s important to have Christian friends, so we can sharpen and be sharpened. So here’s our challenge…

Challenge: Help to sharpen a friend this week!

Teamwork

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.”

-Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

I love this passage. It makes me think so much about teamwork. But when I really started thinking about it, I realized that a lot of the time I don’t want to work with others; I want to be independent, to do things for myself. So, I’m going to try to work better with teamwork, and I hope you’ll do it with me too!!

Challenge: Work together with someone when you really don’t want to this week. If you’re feeling really daring, try working together with someone you don’t really like.

Have a great week!! 😉

A Verse and a Story

A verse and a story. I hope that you enjoy them both.

“Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life….”

-Philippians 2:14-16a

Gone – Courtney Cook

Have a great day! 🙂

Kicking Off My Blog

I figured that the perfect way to really kick off my blog would be to outline what I want my blog to be. First, here’s a list of goals and visions for my blog:

  1. To inspire, encourage, and reach out to my readers.
  2. To be a light to the world. (Matthew 5:14)
  3. To brighten up each reader’s day.

I do have to warn you, though. My posts may be completely random, posted just to make you laugh. Others will hopefully be thought-provoking and encouraging. This blog will not be all about me. I will most likely include stories from my life, but not more than necessary.

Please feel free to comment! I would love to hear your suggestions and opinions. I am new to this, and I would appreciate input and advice.

Also, this blog is still a work-in-progress. I’m still trying to find the perfect theme, so please don’t be surprised if you check it and it looks completely different. I would love advice anytime I change themes, so feel free to comment on them.
