When I’m writing, I must have a plot before I start. The main reason for this is that if I don’t have a plot, my story will drift along aimlessly. But guess what. With God in control of our lives, we’ll never be drifting along aimlessly. He has a plan in mind, and we can always trust him to guide us in the right direction to help him achieve his amazing story.
Christians
The Skit Guys
Kids, don’t try this at home. Or anywhere else. 😉
Like Sheep
All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on him
the sins of us all.Isaiah 53:6
Everyone has strayed from God. None of us deserve to be saved, but God still laid all of our sins on Jesus. Jesus died such a horrible death. For you.
Live by the Truth
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
John 3:21
Do you live by the truth? Do you come into the light?
Connections – Platypi
Connections are… connections. Okay, I’m sure you figured out that much. Connections are connections between two (or more) things, normally connected only by a word, or two.
Platypus #1
One of my very close friends has recently taken to drawing platypi in her notebook. 😉 Just thought I’d say that… and, yes, they are adorable.
Platypus #2
I believe I have mentione our Bible Trivia Challenge Calender, but, as of yet, I don’t think I’ve mentioned our Funny Church Signs Calender. Or our You Might Be A Redneck If… Calender. But we’ll save that last one’s true introduction for another time. A quote from our Funny Church Signs Calender reads:
On the sixth day, God created the platypus. And God said, “Let’s see the evolutionists try to figure this one out.”
A Willing Worker
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.
Colossians 3:23-24
God loves a cheerful worker.
I know it’s hard to be cheerful when you’re working on unpleasant tasks, but it actually makes the time go a lot faster. Here are some ways to stay willing and cheerful when the chores attack.
- Dwell on your favorite Bible verse
- Sing along with the radio or your favorite playlist (especially Christian songs!)
- Smile and laugh
- Think of jokes, and, if you’re working with someone else, share them!
- Make it fun!
Purge
Purge v.
To rid of whatever is impure or undesirable; cleanse; purify.
As Christians we need to purge the sin from our lives. We need to completely reject that sin, cleanse ourselves from what is undesirable to God. We must purify our hearts from… impurities.
Here’s the bad news.
You can’t do it.
No matter how hard you try, there is no way that you can completely rid yourself of your sin. It will simpy lay dormant and wait for the right time to come back and attack you. It’s impossible to do.
The good news?
Our God conquers the impossible.
On our own, it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible. He can completely cleanse and purify you. Ask Him to do it today.
Challenge: Ask God to purge you from your sin. He will give you His strength.
Isaiah 40:8
All One
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith…There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
-Galatians 3:26, 28
If you have accepted Jesus into your heart, you are a child of God. You are one of God’s children!!! Isn’t that amazing? God values you, just as he would a birth child. Sure, you’re adopted, but you were chosen. You are a chosen child of God! Isn’t it awesome to know that you are God’s kid, and that he picked you?
The second verse, Galatians 3:28, gives us some good reasons for not discriminating against others. Everyone is one in Jesus. You shouldn’t discriminate against someone because they’re different from you. After all, we’re all unique! If not for us all being different, it would be a pretty boring world out there. A plain white wall is pretty boring, since it’s exactly the same all over. You most wouldn’t find someone there staring at it in awe. Unless they have a thing about white walls… But paint a mural on that wall, a super detailed and diverse mural, and people probably won’t mind trying to find all the interesting and hidden details in the painting. It would be something really interesting. That’s my opinion on diversity and discrimination.
Diverse, adj.
Having variety; assorted, distinct in kind
Challenge: 1) Remember that you’re a child of God, and 2)Â Don’t discriminate! After all, other people are God’s children, too!
Who Loved Me
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
-Galatians 2:20
I love how this berse states that the Son of God, God’s Son, loves us! Isn’t that amazing? God’s Son not only loves us, but he sacrified His life for us. We have been crucified with Him, and now it’s not us living in our bodies, but Him living within us and guiding us. How will you live differently now that you have God living in you?
