Avengers Meme Dump

I had no idea making memes could be so easy and so fun.

When erinkenobi2893 said she was planning on doing an Avengers fan art dump on her blog today, I thought of all the memes I’ve been making, and figured it would be a great chance to share them… with the world! But let me warn you…

Thordinary Memes

*All of these memes were made by me, but I do not own the pictures, and the quotes may or may not be original, although I think they are, but who knows… All of my memes are certifiably clean. Only violence included comes from a Christmas song…*

Superheroes Must Be Crafty!

Hi, everyone! I recently finished a fun crocheting project that I’d like to share with you guys.

IronManFingerlessGloves1

Yep, you got it! I just finished crocheting my first pair of fingerless gloves; not only that, but they’re Iron Man gloves!

Click here for the pattern I used. I must say that I definitely had to adjust the pattern a lot to accommodate for size differences, as I have really small hands. 😉 The cuffs of the gloves are a little big on me, so I’m going to try using elastic on them. I had a lot of fun doing this, and it was a pretty simple pattern; what I didn’t know was easy to look up on Youtube. 🙂 It is a little time consuming, and they’re definitely not every-day, all-purpose gloves, but they’re pretty neat. 😀

And, as a bonus, here’s the hammer I made for my Thor costume a while back…

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor’s Hammer

Dear friends, I must apologize profusely for the lack of Superhero Sunday posts. Frankly, I ran out of material and ideas. And then… it hit me. Like a bag of flour. 😀 And so I present to you, the Marvel One-Shot: A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor’s Hammer. (Also known as Agent Coulson Beats Up Two Robbers With A Bag of Flour)

Marvel One-Shot – A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor’s Hammer Sub Thai By Agent K – CGT from ComicsGuideThailand</a> on Vimeo</a>.

Now why did I choose to post this video? Well, not only does it have some awesome quotes (“Tell them those Tae Bo tapes really paid off.”) and a very interesting bag of flour (Did you know that “Steranko” is actually the last name of a guy who used to do drawings for Marvel? It’s actually not a brand of flour. Imagine that. And is that even flour? I don’t remember convenience stores carrying that…) but it also has a good message.

After all, Agent Coulson doesn’t say his name once in the entire video. Go ahead, watch it again. In fact, if you don’t know Marvel very well, you may have had no idea who that was!

My point? The Bible says in Matthew 6:1, “‘Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.'” We shouldn’t do our good deeds to be seen by others.

As far as I know, Coulson never tells anyone about this. (The title shows that it happens during one of the Thor movies, neither of which I’ve watched. *gasp* So I might be wrong about that.) But as Christians, we’re not supposed to flaunt our good deeds for others to see. We’re supposed to keep them secret, for only God to know.

So become a secret agent for God, and do your good works to be seen by him, not others!

So I realized that I’d never accepted this award from the amazing icedmocha34. So… I’m doing that now. 😀

Seven Random Facts About Me

 1. I may seem like I have good comebacks and nice witty lines sometimes, but… ha-ha… yeah. It always takes me a long time to think of those, usually a week or two afterwards. Although there is the occassional one that actually works out.
 2. My room is a graveyard. A graveyard of unfinished projects that
 3. I can’t resist a chance to make someone laugh. (As if you couldn’t tell by my comparing my room to a graveyard and then not finishing the sentence about unfinished projects…)
 4. I seem to use “…” a lot at the end of sentences… I guess my thoughts tend to trail off. Go ahead. Count every time I do that in this post. And comments. And e-mails/texts for those of you who know me personally. 😀
 5. I struggle with making lists. I really do.
 6. I’m not the most organized person. And one of those unfinished projects mentioned in fact 2 is cleaning my room. 😛
 7. I just finished completing my Thor costume for church tomorrow night. Woo-hoo!!!! 😀

Hulk Smash – Part Three

In the clip in the last Hulk Smash post, you may notice something interesting. At first, Thor tries to speak gently to Hulk. “We’re not your enemies, Banner. Try to think.”

Now, although this doesn’t work very well with the Hulk, the Bible tells us that it can work with *cough cough* um, more normal people.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Proverbs 15:1

Being gentle, kind, and understanding with those who are angry is one of the best ways to deal with anger. The worst thing you can do is get angry back at them or say something to provoke them. Kindness and love. The anger antidotes. I can’t guarantee that they will always work for everyone, but it’s the best way. If it doesn’t work, hit them with your awesome hammer pray for them. Prayer works.

Hulk Smash – Part Two

Let’s get something straight.

Anger is not a sin.

Jesus was pure. He didn’t sin, and yet, in Mark 11:15-25, Jesus is clearly angry with the people who are defiling God’s temple. This shows us that anger is not a sin, in and of itself. There is such a thing as “righteous anger”.

This is not righteous anger:

In a much later scene, the Hulk does have the good type of anger, when he’s fighting Loki and the Chitauri. Now, like I said before, anger is not a sin. It’s what you do with your anger that makes you sin. We’ll be talking about that in a later post, so, for now, just remember; even Jesus got angry. Anger is not necessarily a sin, as long as you’re angry at the right thing.

Never mind that…

Never mind that 1990 is ancient history. For Thor, it’s always hammer time.

And with a hammer this cool, why wouldn’t it be? It looks like someone strapped a slab of iron the size of a bread maker on a stick and called it good. Try framing a basement with this sucker, and you’ll likely need a new basement. But Thor’s hammer isn’t really for pounding in 4-inch concrete anchors. And it’s not even just for taking down 40-foot monsters. It can be hurled like a boomerang, spun like a set of nunchucks and can change the weather. It is, in the words of Thor’s pop, King Odin, “a weapon to destroy or a tool to build.”

Try getting something like that at Home Depot.
