Always Be Joyful

Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Before You Meet Prince Charming by Sarah Mally

This book was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.

Girls, you need to read this book. It’s half-fiction, half-nonfiction. The story is wonderful, and Sarah Mally writes the advice in between the sections like she’s your older sister sharing her own experiences with you. It’s definitely a must-read, especially for girls who are boy-crazy or find themselves thinking about guys and dating a lot. Here are some of my favorite quotes (the ones in italics are from the fiction parts):

  • I have known many young ladies who were consumed with dating and thoughts about boyfriends, and thus wasted the years of their youth.
  • If you truly desire to guard your heart, then it should be obvious to you that you ought to avoid any influences that distract your thoughts or stir up wrong desires.
  • A heart that is truly guarded must have no vacancies – no empty spaces that need to be filled, no voids that leave open places and room for the enemy to get in.
  • “Be ye on important business?” asked the alligator. “Be ye the castle receptionist?” returned the knight.
  • … I want to remind you that our primary motivation for caution and wisdom is not to avoid pain.

I hope everyone will enjoy reading this book! Read it! 🙂

A Willing Worker

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24

God loves a cheerful worker.

I know it’s hard to be cheerful when you’re working on unpleasant tasks, but it actually makes the time go a lot faster. Here are some ways to stay willing and cheerful when the chores attack.

  • Dwell on your favorite Bible verse
  • Sing along with the radio or your favorite playlist (especially Christian songs!)
  • Smile and laugh
  • Think of jokes, and, if you’re working with someone else, share them!
  • Make it fun!

Not Of This World

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

-Colossians 3:1-4

If we believe in God, Christ becomes our life. We will appear with Him in glory when He appears. We are now hidden in Christ!

We are not of this world.

That’s why this verse talks about setting our hearts and our minds on things above, not on earthly things. That’s one of the best ways to grow closer to God: focusing on Him and not on all of the junk and sin of this world.

Challenge: Focus on God instead of all of the sin around you, and let Him lead you in the direction He wants you to go.

It’s A Relationship

Mathematical Christianity. Formula Christianity. Checklist Christian.

Whatever you call it, Christianity without love is simply a checklist you go through. It’s just a list of things you do to try and stay on God’s “good side.”

But what is Christianity without love? All of the Christian faith is based on a relationship with God. Going through the motions just won’t work. You’ve got to listen to God, talk to Him, and stay in His word. Christianity is all about a relationship with our Lord, our Savior, our Redeemer, and our King.

God Bless You.

Standing There Beside You

“No!” Priscilla screamed. Her chubby toddler fingers reached for the teddy bear in her mother’s hands. “I want it!”

“No, Priscilla,” her mother said firmly. “It’s time to put it away.”

Priscilla’s eyes filled with tears. “But I need him, Mommy!” she protested.

“Why do you need it?” her mother asked curiously.

“He keeps me safe at night,” Priscilla told her mother hesitatingly. “Without him I get scared.”

Priscilla’s mom sat on the edge of Priscilla’s bed. “You don’t need a teddy bear to keep you safe, Priscilla. All you need is Jesus.”

“Jesus? But he’s in heaven, right?”

Her mom smiled. “Jesus is everywhere, and he’s always with you.” She tapped the end of Priscilla’s nose, making her giggle. “When you’re scared, just think about Jesus and imagine him standing there beside you. He can conquer anything.”

Priscilla smiled. “Thanks, Mommy, I will.”

Priscilla fell asleep that night with a peaceful smile on her face.

Is There A God?

This is absolutely, postively true. And there is soo much more proof out there!

If There Is No God…

If there is no God, why have so many biblical prophecies come true?

In ‘Science Speaks’, Peter Stoner calculated that the probability of one person fulfilling eight selected biblical prophecies was one in 1017. The likelihood of one person fulfilling 48 prophecies was one in 10,157. Jesus of Nazareth fulfilled 61 major Old Testament prophecies!

“Prophecy never had it’s origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. ”
2 Peter 1:21

If there is no God, who crammed all the data into DNA?

DNA is the stuff of genes which determines everything from your haircolor to height to resistance to certain diseases. If the coded DNA instructions within one of your cells could be printed, the information would fill 1000 encyclopedia – sized books.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully…
