Blogging

Awkwardly Artistic

Don’t you just love alliteration?

My dear friend has just started her own blog!

This is what I like to call “shameless friend promotion” (Get it???). Anyway, she’s awesome, an amazing artist, a great writer, actress extraordinaire, and a quirky introverted teenager *cough* like me *cough* although you won’t be able to tell by the way she writes! So go check out her blog! I dare you! 😀

And, in case you missed the first two links, here’s the address:

The Sunshine Award

The Sunshine Award

Thanks so much to Katheline Hansen for nominating me for the Sunshine Award! Here are the rules:

  • Give 5 facts about yourself.
  • Answer the blogger’s five questions, and create your own.
  • Nominate five other bloggers.

Five Facts (Trying not to use ones I’ve used before)

  1. I’m a Holmie. Which is technically the same thing as a Sherlockian, but it sounds cooler.
  2. I’m learning how to drive… and trying to stay off curbs. Yes, I rode on the curb the other day… 😛
  3. I get character names for my stories off of headstones sometimes. (Yeah…)
  4. I LOVE taking pictures… once I start, I find it hard to stop. 😉
  5. I don’t have a smart phone. (And you can tell I’m running out of facts. :D)

Katheline’s five questions:

  1. Beach or mountains?  – Mountains. But I love the beach too. 😉
  2. What’s your favorite book? (Yes I’m evil like that. XD) – Argh, very evil! Non-fiction, the Bible. Fiction… The Chronicles of Narnia and Sherlock Holmes. That’s as close as I can get to one book. 😉 There are plenty more books out there that I absolutely love, too.
  3. Which book character do you think you’re most like? – What? I haven’t thought about that concerning books. I have no idea. Good question. Wow… I’m stalling. I guess I’d be like Dr. Watson (female version, of course), maybe a little like Stevie from the Saddle Club series. 😉
  4. What animal do you think you’re most like? – Heh heh, that’s hard. Which animal seems quiet, and then, BOOM, it’s not anymore? That would be me.
  5. What places would you most want to visit, or would you want to travel at all? – England. London. Definitely. Australia, or maybe a continental European country, would also be cool.

Five Questions for my Nominees

  1. You’ve got one day left of your life. What would you want to do?
  2. Pirates or ninjas, and why?
  3. If you were turned into one of the Avengers, which one would you be most like?
  4. What are your top three favorite Bible characters, and why?
  5. (I’m going to be evil, too) What is your favorite book?

My Nominees

  1. icedmocha34
  2. The Ink Stain
  3. booklovers1
  4. The Upstairs Archives
  5. The Comeback Kids Blog

I hope all of those that I nominate will accept and I hope that you have enjoyed this! 🙂

The World of the Writer

Hey guys!

I’m so excited! I just got a new blog called The World of the Writer! From now on, most of my stories and thoughts on writing will be posted over there, so please check it out! I’d love feedback on it, and definitely be expecting the theme to change. I’m still looking for the perfect (free) one, so hang in there! Thank you guys so much! 😀

Story Starters: 4-12-14

Story Starters are prompts that must be the first part of your story. To participate, please tag your post with p31tStarter and link back to this post. My favorite post for each story starter will be reblogged on Friday.*

Flash Fiction (less than 1,000 words):

There was no escape.

Short Story (Over a 1,000 words, but we’ll set the limit at 10,000 words)

If only s/he had never found that platypus in his/her locker.

*Please note: If there are no posts linked to this post or tagged with p31tStarter, there will be no post reblogged. Also, any stories with anything inappropriate will not be chosen. Thank you!

Steal My Show – tobyMac

Once again, a tobyMac song. This is another one of my favorites, and I just thought it speaks to what I’ve wanted for my blog. I want God to steal the show, and this not to be about me. If anything here touches anyone, I know that it wasn’t because of what I wrote; it’s what God spoke through me.

DC Talk and Sweet Sixteen

Today is my sixteenth birthday! 🙂

This song by DC Talk from what I believe is their most famous album, Jesus Freak, defines the goals of my blog and my life. It was also the only DC Talk song that tobyMac played at the Hits Deep Tour in Corbin, KY this year. And, like I said, the pictures are coming soon, probably after New Years.

Click here for some of my other favorite songs that my sister posted on her blog. 😀

Enjoy!
