This is the last part in our Hulk Smash series, unless I think of another topic. πΒ I hope that you’ve enjoyed this!
Revenge.
So many times in movies, books, and real life, actions are fueled by revenge. Not necessarily with the Hulk, but… well, I thought it needed to be in here.Β The Bible talks a lot about revenge, and what it says isn’t good.
Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,
βI will take revenge;
I will pay them back,β
says the Lord.Romans 12:19
This verse even quotes another verse that talks about revenge. The message is clear. Never take revenge. Let the Lord AVENGE you. π
Revenge is a big problem in a lot of stories….I hate it when it’s viewed as a good thing just because the “hero” wants revenge.

Right. I prefer having a villain that’s after revenge that gets conquered. π

Yeah that’s a good idea!!

Yeah! π I don’t really like vengeful heroes. I like the kind of hero who turns his face away when the villain dies. π Or who manages to realistically redeem the villain.

I agree. I think the key to that last part, though, is realistically. Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense. π

Yes. π And sometimes people just refuse to change. I’ve heard it said (I don’t recall where) that the only way a person can change is by God’s grace. π Which makes it kind of hard to redeem a villain if you happen to be an atheist. π
